Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 2025
1. Introduction
Guidely ("we", "our", or "us") is a browser extension that provides step-by-step, on-page guidance to help you complete tasks inside SaaS products. Your privacy matters to us, and this policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. Information We Collect
- User-provided input: The task or question you type into Guidely.
- Minimal page context: The current website domain and page title (used solely to tailor guidance).
- Local settings: UI preferences and configuration stored locally on your device.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any information about your browsing habits, history, or behavior.
- We do not read or transmit the full page contents or DOM.
- We do not track which websites you visit outside of active Guidely usage.
- We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
4. How We Use Your Information
When you ask Guidely for help, we send your query along with the current domain and page title to our backend. Our backend uses AI to generate step-by-step guidance tailored to your request. This data is used solely to provide the guidance you requested and is not stored beyond the duration of the request.
5. Third-Party Services
To generate guidance, Guidely communicates with third-party AI service providers via our backend. These providers process the query to produce the response. We select providers that maintain strong privacy and security practices.
6. Data Storage & Retention
- Local storage only: Settings and cached suggestions are stored locally on your device via your browser's storage APIs.
- No server-side retention: We do not persistently store your queries or page context on our servers.
7. Data Sharing & Selling
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than providing Guidely's core functionality.
8. Your Rights
Since we do not store personal data on our servers, there is no account or profile to delete. You can uninstall the Guidely extension at any time to remove all locally stored data.
9. Children's Privacy
Guidely is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
